6 pm - Release of an art video
(the work is not necessarily suitable for the most sensitive viewers):
6:30 pm - Live artist talk via Zoom. We also raise a toast for the end of the spectacular project year!
This is about meeting each other.
This is about mega collision.
This is about not knowing where it is suppose to end.
This is about having a punk attitude while being aware of the consequences.
This is about being always in contradiction.
This is a stage based never ending ultrafast bullshitting practice with beats in a concert form.
This is with Niki and Emma and two other musicians.
This is not a concept.
This is definitely a concept.
This is just a question: how can we do a dance performance in a concert setting?
This was about Emma finally coming to Finland where Niki is from.
This is about talking very very fast, in order to say as many words as possible in a limited amount of time.
This is about doing head banging with one meter long hair doing Kalevala rap songs, standing on a piano.
This is about love songs. This is not about love songs. This is about fucking with love songs while loving them very much. This is about fucking with life while loving it very much. This is a try out which will be. This is a being which will try.
This is about words entering our flesh to make us move. This is about drum-machines and mouth motorist. This is about the mouth as a drumming word-machine.
This is about gathering information about how you are moving while moving.
This is about a different context.
This is about coming with the train or the bus because we shouldn’t take planes.
This is almost about making a ritual. This is about letting us move by the community living in the town of Kokkola.
This is such a great name for a city.
This is just the beginning of the end.
This is until future never comes.
Niklas Blomberg aka Lipstickolas has a 24 year background in classical piano. Nowadays doing house, punk, pop and rap. From Finland, based in Berlin, performing in Europe and Asia. On his list of achievements Niklas can count writing a dadaist book, being a background dancer for Swedish popstar Beatrice Eli, producing music for the pop-project Ariah Lester, running various dance music experiments, folding Japanese origami for exhibitions, and founding the performative punk band Muovipussi. He handsaws customized futuristic high heels, and enthusiastically studies alchemy and Ayurveda. Graduated from Stockholm University of Dance and Circus as an acrobat.
Emma Tricard takes part in the artistic process remotely. Currently based in Marseille, Emma is dancing, choreographing, speaking, writing and doing other stuff involving the -ing form. Trained in contemporary dance and theater, she graduated from the BA program of HZT in Berlin, and the master program Exerce at the CCN of Montpellier. While collaborating with other artists and choreographers, she has been developing a research based on the structures of communication. Meaning to observe and dissect carefully the relation between (a) language and (a) gesture. She is being busy today with the notion of "énoncé" (=utterance; =statement). It's happening. Until it will not.
She recently started to perform her text singing together with the musician and artist Niklas Blomberg. Together, they are exploring formats and forms of address that a concert-performance can manifest. Also, yet and actually, she mentioned a few time that she loves to walk in the mountain, talk to people, consider the choreographic as a craft and watch storms coming.
The working group is completed with Helsinki-based musicians, Heidi Finnberg and Milla Lahtinen.
