Bjørk-Mynte Buchgraitz Paulse is a newly graduated contemporary dancer. She holds a BA Diploma in modern dance from Oslo National Academy Of The Arts. In 2012 she gradated from The Royal Danish Balletschool In Odense and have since educated her self in different dance styles.
She is currently performing in Oslo at Khio with the piece “Kneeding” by Jefta Van Dinther. She is soon planning on moving to Berlin and work as a freelance dancer.
During her two weeks residency at Ulys Kunsthal she will research and create a solo. She is generally inspired by working with different mental states and physicality in a landscape, which allows her to move in a very animalistic and beastly way. She focuses on how aspects of the animal kingdom can be transferred in to movement and uses those through different qualities, details and musicality.
She is passionated and interested in working with gender, gender fluidity and aesthetically non-binary or a very androgynous look.
For this project at Ulys Kunsthal she explores the notion of fitting in. Fitting in in society, fitting in on a daily basis, fitting in in a relation to others and being comfortable in your own body and mind.
